Myth: People who go to law school will try cases in court.

Also, a lot of factors need to be taken into account, including the state of the economy and the overall number of law school graduates.

Myth: Lawyers get to do intellectually stimulating work.

Fact: Unfortunately, most lawyers do not get to do exciting work. They have to wade through many documents and laws, conducting research on legal procedures. It is a tradition of the practice of law that most new attorneys begin with mundane, procedural work.
