Styles of Legal Recruiting Part III:
Database Expert
The Database Expert spends the majority of his time
searching the recruiting firm’s database. Recruiters of this
style generally work at large recruiting firms, and thus have a
significant pool of candidates from which to select. The recruiter will
determine which openings to recruit for and find a particular
candidate. The candidate’s profile is submitted to several
employers.
The database is the least used method of recruiting, as
it is limited to recruiters working in large firms. However, it is
effective. The process works upon the assumption that the candidate is
already marketed towards a correct placement and that employers should
be shown respect and only presented candidates when they seek them.
A Database Expert recruiter will be able to provide
firms with candidates on a rolling basis. They are also able to provide
efficient services to firms which are in odd areas that have trouble
finding candidates, as their primary work is done through technology.
However, because they focus on actual jobs which are
already open, they place their candidates in direct competition with
everyone else in the market. The recruiters also only take on
candidates if they have openings for them as opposed to seeing if
opportunities will present themselves in the future.
There are many types of recruiting styles, and one is
not necessarily better than another. It is all a matter of personal
preference. If you are in need of a Texas Legal Recruiter
