Senior Corporate Counsel - Project Development - Houston
Large energy company seeks an 4+ year attorney with strong project development and construction experience. The company offers an attractive compensation and benefits package, significant opportunities for career growth, and a fantastic legal team.

This position will work closely with the project development team. The role involves direct interface with senior management and directors of projects, as well as the project management team for specific projects.

This attorney will be focused on legal work arising from the construction of domestic power projects (greenfield and expansion / re-powering of existing projects). Primary responsibilities will include representing the interests of the project owner in connection with:

- negotiating and drafting EPC contracts for major turbine and boiler-based power projects, including major equipment and supply contracts
- managing outside counsel engaged as necessary to support these tasks

Requirements:

- 4+ years experience in private practice or in a corporate legal department
- Experience handling power plant construction
- In addition to conventional fuels, wind and renewables experience is a plus (but not required)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Hard-working, well-organized, team player attitude preferred
