Cover Letters
Among the parts of the job searching process, writing a cover letter is important. Cover letters accompany resumes that are delivered to employers, and they typically provide a certain set of information divided into three parts.
The first part of the cover letter introduces the job applicant. The applicant says who she is, what position she is applying for, how she found out about the position, and why she wants the position she is applying for. This first part of the cover letter should be short and succinct so that that employer can quickly and easily be introduced to the applicant.
The second part of the cover letter is the most important part. In the second part, the applicant expands on some elements of the resume. The applicant should describe about two of her accomplishments that relate to the position being applied for. It should also elaborate on what the applicant learned in some positions.
The final part of the cover letter should also be short and brief. It should thank the employer for considering her, as well as express the applicant’s genuine interest in the position. To prompt the employer to contact the applicant after deciding on whether the applicant is a good fit or not, this last part should mention that the applicant looks forward to hearing back from the employer.
People can get help with their cover letters from a variety of sources. The internet has many sample cover letters and cover letter formats. Moreover, employment agencies have people who will review cover letters.
